Our team was tasked with creating excitement around the launch of Visa Europe’s innovation hub, Collab, and to generate coverage about the future of payment technology.
We teamed Collab with fashion designer Henry Holland for London Fashion Week to showcase the first transaction to ever be made live from the catwalk. We designed a ring in keeping with his fashion line which featured NFC technology that essentially acted as a credit card. The creation of teaser videos and Huffington blog posts aroused interest and a sense of mystique.
Inviting VIPs including well-known bloggers, journalists, broadcasters and celebrities like Alexa Chung and Daisy Lowe to use this ring during the show to purchase the latest items, meant the world was watching. We picked-up an impressive number of articles that showcased Visa in a positive, current light, challenging preconceptions of FinTech as being dry or boring and our team were proud to bag the 2016 FinTech Innovation Marketing of the Year award as well as the gold award for the Best Use of Innovation at the 2016 CMA awards.
