For the past two years, we have been working to build the profile of BP Ventures within the investment community and help generate deal flow through events and new market launches.

In 2017, we hosted the inaugural BP Ventures Digital Energy Summit atGoogle HQ. In 2018, we hosted an event for BP in Israel as they announced their first ventures investment in this market. In November 2018, we were appointed again to host the second summit at Bloomberg HQ, with a focus on delivering something that broke the corporate event mould.


Engaging the audience

We curated a TED Talk-inspired event that was led by two principal guest speakers: Jacqueline De Rojas, President of TechUK and PaulMassara, CEO of Electron. They delivered keynotes that challenged the audience on diversity, investment, regulation and democratisation of tech, set within a discussion about the role of digital in transitioning to a lower carbon future.

We gathered 125 guests who were highly engaged, which led to meaningful discussion and networking after the on-stage discussion. We received strong feedback on the alibre of the event and the insights people took away.

We created social-first content prior and post-event which was amplified across speaker, Bloomberg and BP Ventures platforms, in order to both maximise awareness amongst guests but also to target key audiences beyond the confines of Bloomberg.

Thanks to the implementation of a well-planned social strategy, we generated the highest levels of social engagement to date for BP Ventures including:
