The data race
in New York City
10 joined Genpact in the Big Apple for the epic doubleheader E-Prix season finale. We witnessed 22 drivers and 11 teams battle it out over two races in the shadow of the spectacular Manhattan skyline – and celebrated victories for Genpact’s partner Envision Virgin Racing (EVR). Drivers Robin Frijns and Sam Bird finished in 1st and 4th place.
Throughout the season, Genpact has been working closely with EVR to create the world’s first instinctive racing team. With sharper performance insights and predictions, Genpact is optimizing operations, building on peak performance, and harnessing alternative sources of data so the team can head out to the track on race day – leaving little to chance – and giving the team a competitive edge in the championship.
We worked with Genpact to curate a thought leadership event the day before the races kicked off. Entitled ‘The data race: how to achieve a podium position in business’, the audience heard from disruptors in the worlds of sport and wine and how they leveraged data to achieve positive impact. The event was interweaved with core Genpact messaging.
We secured Billy Beane, vice president of baseball operations at Oakland A’s and Moneyball mastermind, as the keynote speaker. Beane talked about the risks he took in taking a completely different approach to baseball, spearheading the use of data analytics (or ‘sabermetrics’) to measure in-game activities and secure an advantage over competitor teams. Guests were left with business lessons from one of America’s greatest sporting legends.
The event closed with networking and a drinks reception at Brooklyn Grange, a rooftop urban farm with breath-taking views of Manhattan.
